About Us

Global Asset Capital was founded in 1997 in San Francisco, California.
 
GAC originally focused on complex asset-backed securitizations of financial and intellectual property assets. In 1998, GAC formed a $150MM structured finance joint venture with Daiwa Securities to finance music catalogues and television/film libraries.
 
GAC’s first foray into private equity was the 1997 privatization of Quorum Growth Partners, a publicly traded venture capital holding company. Since then, GAC has made and managed investments in over 100 companies in technology/media/telecom and specialty finance/real estate industries. In 2003, GAC purchased Viventures Partners, Vivendi Universal’s venture capital/private equity unit, with over $600MM in capital under management.
 
GAC is currently managing over $1bn focused on venture capital, private equity, and real estate. GAC’s team of entrepreneurs and investors has a long and diverse track record of building, investing in, and exiting successful businesses. More recently, GAC has become active in emerging markets private equity, and has built partnerships with groups in Russia/CIS, Latin America, and Africa.  GAC's real estate portfolio comprises of over 4MM square feet of office and development assets in the United States and Europe. GAC’s team has invested through investment cycles, across domain areas and geographies, and in all layers of the capital stack.
